What do you think about America's -- or in this case, the world's slightly less then better economy growing to be one peice of work nowadays, possibly calling in another great depression like the one in 1930's. My take is that, the US government isn't actually even doing anything, and as Jon Stewart so bluntly puts it. It's a giant ClusterF*ck to the poor house! |

people bitch about the economy and how america isnt trying to do anything about it, and all i have to say are 2 things, first off bush not long ago had a bill that would bail us out of this slump but congress was hasty and rejected it almost immediately now im not a bush fan dont get me wrong. the second point i have to make is that if everyone is bitching about the economy and how bad it is i want to hear their ideas on how to get us out of it and if you dont have one the those people need to keep their mouths shut. |

Frankly I don't care. I can see a lot of rioting and murders in the future though. But, IMO, I think the bailout thing is bullshit. Poor rich CEOs want to go on vacation but they don't have any money to do so because they are paying too much in worker salaries, so they lay a bunch of people off and claim they are losing money, so a bailout is called for by Bush so he can make them happy. But apparently that isn't enough. THEY TAKE MORE MONEY FROM US WORKING PEOPLE'S POCKETS TO FEEL THEIR GREEDY NEEDS. Fuck 'em all. 'Welcome to corporate facist America, mother fuckers.' is this nation's new motto. Your fucking rights don't matter anymore as far as any of these rich guys are concerned. You're about to lose the civil liberties you take for granted. Yet you sit around and do nothing but complain about the crap that's going down. Write a letter to your congressman, vote, do something. Shit. I'm done ranting. Edited by Maya Natsume, Oct 10 2008, 09:33 PM.

Fuck it. I mean, its that simple, CEO's are cashing, people around the world are getting ass raped. *sigh* this is the great depression and the era right before WWII all over again. AL the world markets were failing and that leads to aggression and violence. |

Here's my opinion on this: Sure we have hit this low point and everyone's starting to take notice, but guess what. Stocks are starting to rise again and gas has gone from $4 to $3.50 so I say we just had a bad time and we may be rising up out of it. We have learned our economic lesson or should still be learning it for those stupid rich people who still insist on buying Escalades and Hummers. I know all of you are gonna flame me more this, but my dad is a CEO and he is not laying off anyone at all. My dad really hates these CEOs that are doing what you guys are talking about, he was ripping on them at dinner Saturday night. Edited by SamuraiDude216, Oct 13 2008, 12:17 AM.

Taking into consideration that I haven't been up to date lately with the economy and I don't pay attention to the news that much, I might be wrong or disagreed upon but like my family own's a small business and let's just say its not going well, and yes because of the economy sort of. I can't explain it, but its just obvious. Anyways aside from that, I haven't been around the 1930's depression but from what I learned in history class and what I've read, its enough to say that we are better off than those times, because at least there is still money flowing even if little to scarce. The important things is jobs being unavailable. I've been told that Boston University has ceased any hiring positions for students or something since the market fell or almost had that Black Monday thing. So apparently the economy is unstable, but I don't think we've hit the rela hard times yet, keyword being yet. Obviously the main factor is the news being played over media that there's an economic crisis. Headline news anyone? Apparently some of you guys are right, that this is a global concern about the markets because you got foreigners also investing in the market and if big talks spread around that everyone is looking for bail out, then obviousloy fear will spread around. People will retrieve moneys and since as of recent, the banks are bailing the ocmpanies, then poeple might retrieve their money so liek that's bad. I mean, I'm at the store all day so I got whatever customers walking in talking about these things and so I hear this and that. plus the tv is on with 24/7 news and i read the newspapers when i can so I'm not that clueless. I do think the economy will stablize itself with the help out of someone, bank govt or wat not, there's too much at stake for that. annd apparently todays headlines news says that the dow went up. so yay i guess. but what about the people who got laid off? they need jobs and what not. loans have also increased as well and hard to get frm what i heard. so that dampers college students lookin for loans, and with scarce jobs available, they have no means of showing anything for it to take loans for edu so its a deeper issue thats gona effect the econmoy later on because the wayu i see it, if you;'ve got less kids in school, more a re gona look for jobs and its just gona be a downhill roller coaster ride and nobodys gona have fun, and thats exactly when you hit deprssion. and yeah i coulda clean this up muich better, but im pressed for time. good views btw. and on wat SD216 said, i agree with u, you can blame ceos and i do for the most part, but not everyone is like that. depends on the ppl. its hard to even hire workers right now here at a deli but we still hired someone and someone who lost a job and a plce to live becuase of no job gest some part time here and its been hard all round but it'll get better if like THE said that ppl should stop takling and just DO something bout it instead of instilling fear and blaming and pointing fingers at others. first find a solution and then clean the problem. Seriuosly, if your ship is sinking, find the trouble and close the hole and then clean up the water. dont blame the crew or captain or what not, solve it, then clean up then do shit. |

Strangely enough the stock market had a good day yesterday. At this moment its actually a very good time to buy up stocks. Everything is low and affordable. |

Actually I didn't get a chance to finish typing before the library pc shut down the window. But anyway, this is the ideal time to invest in securites. But however, you have to be wise about it. Things are tricky at the moment but we nearly reached the bottom. Holidays are coming up and if you hadn't noticed the market goes up by 20% during the winter season. As far as the politics and lobyist goes, democracy has been proven to fail over and over. But just like any government, where ever there are people willing to take advantage of their power there will be problems like this. Its not like we wouldn't do the same in their position. I know I would be the first to take the $274,000 pay off to stop pushing the universal healthcare system just like Hilary Clinton. But this isn't about her. Our system is garbage and always will be. If there was ever a perfect person to be a proper leader and can do things right then I would be the first to jump on that band wagon. But even then not everyone will be satisfied. There will always be an asshole who thinks eating meat is bad or that porn should be for children too. Until then I'll just keep planning for my adventure of wilderness travel. Atleast there are no laws there. Edited by solking, Oct 14 2008, 01:54 PM.
