I doubt they are really called virtual goggles but I can think of no other name they are similar but they aren't a pair of goggles; rather, it’s a pair of OLED (organic light-emitting diode) micro-displays that you wear on your head like eyeglasses they also have a pair of stereo earbuds.
I honestly have to say you can't say "I beat that game" without playing it through a pair of virtual goggles, a TV or a monitor puts you at a safe distance so you feel much more secure when playing, so you can not say "that game was easy" I've played metroid prime before seems rather easy killing the little weak things that cross your path but even the tiniest monster can scare the crap out of you when it's up close and personal
The other day I started up metroid prime 2 echoes again because the spider ball boss was pissing me off I decided to use a pair of virtual goggles we had bought a couple years ago when I met up with the dark alpha male splinter I almost shat brix and nearly lost the game but I managed to win by pausing to take a breather for a few minutes because my hearting was pounding it was a rather intense feeling I wasn't scared or anything it was just my mind freaking out and pumping me with a adrenaline because I could not react fast enough
I have to say it was a pretty awesome experience I plan on trying to play through Metroid Prime 2: Echoes like this

Why stop at Echoes?
Why not others like Legend of Zelda. I mean they've already handled the Wiimote controls for that pretty well. Swings like a real sword too.

Resident Evil would be a good choice but you can't play from the first person view. The camera angles suck in RE
