Sazzy recently turned me to a new anime called Eden Of The East. I'm 7 episodes into it and I'm just loving it. From what I can say is that it starts with a girl visiting the White House in Washington D.C. She gets in trouble with the police but ends up meeting a naked guy who has a gun in one hand and a phone in the other. From there the story spirals out of control. This guy has amnesia but finds out that he is supposed to change the world in some twisted game. Everything about this anime is great. The artwork is beautiful. The characters are interesting and unique. The storyline is crazy. Not just any crazy. Its like Gantz crazy which to me is like the highest level of crazy I have ever seen anime reach. Even the music is great. The OP features a song called Falling Down by Oasis from their most recent album. I guess you can say that its English friendly. This anime has so much going on that you can find nearly every genre of anime in here. A definite must see for avid anime fans. And if your not really into anime this will totally change your mind. |

EDEN OF THE EAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <33333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333 This anime is my fave of the season. The people who did Ghost in Shell are the ones behind it, so its bound to be good. The opening and ending sequences are the best I've seen. Both different to each other but complimenting of the story and the two characters (which to me the opening is the female, and then ending is to the male. I dunno why it just seems that way to me). It really is an interesting piece to watch and get pulled it. I do really recommend it as I did to Eddie

I don't have any personal ones but I pulled some off of Google Images.![]() ![]() And here is the OP. I think the OP is definitely a reflection of what the anime is like. |

Actually they are from different companies. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was produced by Kyoto Animation and Eden of the East was produced by Production I.G. However they do offer interesting similarities but plenty of differences. In short, they are both very original. But, in my personal opinion, I find Eden Of The East to be the better of the two. A lot of anime is based on high school students or students that are in that transition between high school and university. What caught my attention in this anime is that the characters were all around my own age. That transition stage from university to career. So the jokes aren't about shy teens just beginning to experience the world. Instead it goes further than that and shows how life can be as a young adult which is completely different. Its very rare to see an anime to focus on this part of life. |
